The Master Degree of Project Management in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MPMIE)

1. Description

The Master of Project management in Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a master program targeting professionals as well as academics who would like to master project management tools in order to develop their professional capacities and help their enterprises to create and to innovate. Students will receive a European master degree in PMIE delivered by the University of Nantes, France and a postgraduate degree (diploma) in PM delivered by the French University in Egypt and accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities. With this EMPMIE students will have access to registration for a PhD thesis in a French University provided they fulfill the requirements.

Teaching language is English. The information technology and communication will be a major means to implement projects to achieve. The current partnership of UFE with TIEC (Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center) will provide cooperations with companies including companies in the Smart Village.

2.Objectives

The Master of Project management in Innovation and Entrepreneurship aims at training specialists in project management. It will turn graduate students from all disciplines into autonomous people, capable of managing projects from the first to the last step, working as part of a team and using the resources and competencies at their disposal in a company.

3. Job opportunities

Graduates will find job opportunities in all the organisations which need specialists. Examples of such training opportunities :

  • Project Manager,
  • Managers of innovative projects (new products / services, new activities)
  • Entrepreneurs or business advice
  • Continuity in potential PhD

The sectors of activity are very diversified : private companies of all sectors, national or international public organisations, ministries, banks, consulting companies, national or international non governmental organisations. We offer a platform for international collaboration with similar master degree of project management for diffrents areas around the world : Europe (Nantes, France), Asia Pacific (Hanoi, Vietnam), and now Arabian Gulf (Cairo, Egypt).

4. Admission requirements

Candidates from various disciplines may be accepted : engineering, computing, business, law, Faculty of languages, political science, economics, management and various social science disciplines…

5. Organization of the academic year

The duration of the first semester is about 16 weeks. It runs from September to February/march. Students work in teams on a project with real companies : innovation project in business or a project to create business, in addition to academic courses, of course. This work is aimed at applying the project management methodology.

The second semester runs from March to September. This period of 10 to 16 weeks is dedicated to an internship period. The final evaluation will focus on a “mémoire”. The internship can be completed in :

  • Smart Village
  • Public or private companies
  • Banks, industrial enterprises, tourism business
  • Consulting agencies
  • Aid agencies to business creation
  • Or eventually, the possibility for the student to launch his own business, especially in UFE incubators.
