The Faculty of Applied Languages aims at qualifying students to be:
Competent in the three languages, French, English and Arabic, and apply language and methodological knowledge to various specialty domains like communications, marketing, accounting & finance, human resources, and international commercial negotiations,
Specialized translators and terminologists in various technical domains, proofreaders and web site editors capable of working competently in the three languages.
Since its inauguration in 2003, the Faculty of Applied Languages is a partner with the New Sorbonne Paris 3 University (Department of Foreign Applied Languages). Thanks to this partnership, graduates of the Faculty of Applied Arts receive 2 Bachelor Degrees, an Egyptian Bachelor Degree and a French Bachelor Degree, either in Business and International Commerce or in Specialized Translation. All students have the same curricula for the first two years, with a focus on strengthening language skills in the three languages (French, English and Arabic). Language skills are further enhanced by studying applied subjects, i.e., Economics, Law, Civilization and Information Technology, in one of the three languages.
In the third year, students choose their specialty: Business and International Commerce, studying specialized subjects in the three languages, or Translation as students master translation from and into the language pairs French/Arabic and English/Arab.
Therefore, graduates of the Faculty of Applied Languages may have a wide of array of job opportunities in international organizations, diplomatic corps, international law firms, marketing evaluation companies, translation services agencies, and mass media, among others in the Arab, Francophone and Anglophone worlds.
